After an extensive global search, SVG Ventures announced 11 finalists that will compete for the THRIVE | Shell Climate-Smart Agriculture Challenge. The Challenge aims to identify and support top start-up and scale-up innovators who are driving the global transformation to climate-smart agriculture practices. The challenge aligns with Shell’s Powering Progress strategy and the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The finalists, selected from a global applicant pool of 300+ startups, 5 from the United States, 3 from Canada, 1 each from Israel, Ireland, and Kenya have technologies focused across the three Challenge themes: enhance land, connect farms, and measure soil.
The startups will pitch to the judging panel of representatives from Shell, THRIVE, John Deere and BASF. Winners will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions at SXSW in March 2023 at the Shell House in Austin, Texas
Awards will include up to $100k in non-dilutive funding and acceptance into the Shell GameChanger program, acceptance into the THRIVE Accelerator Programs, and the opportunity to be considered for additional investment from Shell Ventures.
